Dr. Nina O’Connell

Dr. Nina O’Connell has been practicing dentistry for over thirty years. She worked with Dr. Thomas Streko for fifteen years in his Westfield practice. They worked together sharing enthusiasm, experience, and a love of dentistry while developing strong ties to the community. 

Dr. O’Connell graduated from Forsyth Dental Hygiene Program, Boston, MA. She then went on to complete her bachelor’s degree in Health Education at Northeastern University Boston, MA. After graduating, she lived in Ancona, Italy where she created and ran a dental hygiene program. After returning to the United States, she received her doctorate in dentistry in 1999 from University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ), New Jersey and completed her dental residency at East Orange Veterans Hospital, New Jersey 

Her particular interests include neuromuscular dentistry, managing jaw (TMJ) pain and sleep apnea. She has taken courses at the Las Vegas Institute Neuromuscular Dentistry in Las Vegas, NV and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE). She is also on the faculty at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine as a Clinical Associate Professor as she enjoys teaching and giving back to the community. 

She has lived in Westfield for twenty five years with her husband, Chris, and their three daughters and two dogs. In her free time she enjoys skiing, traveling, bar method, and spending quality time with family and friends.
